Under the direction of the Staffing Supervisor the TCA will be responsible for responding to priority care needs as follows: to begin immediate care for a new consumer and/or to provide fill-in coverage for consumers as needed due to absence of regularly assigned staff. Major responsibilities to be performed for consumers will include providing personal care services, home support, respite, community inclusion services, and assistance with daily living activities, as well as a wide variety of ancillary services depending upon the needs and specific service plan of the consumer. Ancillary services may include but are not limited to: light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry and errands.
High school diploma or GED required. This position also requires verifiable medical training (CNA, EMT, LPN, RN, etc) or equivalent experience, including a minimum of 5 years of recent personal care experience with adults.
Must be at least 18 years of age; must have reliable transportation; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently; demonstrated ability to adapt to change quickly, work independently and exercise good judgment and problem-solving skills; effective interpersonal skills, communication skills (both verbal and written) and listening skills; ability to interpret and respond appropriately to nonverbal communication.
